Job Description

St. Mark’s Episcopal School seeks a part-time Summer Technology Intern to partner with the IT department to complete summer projects that include end-user equipment deployment and configuration (MacOS and iOS), MDM migration, classroom technology updates, wifi access point upgrades, assisting with our help desk operations, and other projects as assigned. This is a paid internship.

Duties:

  • Updating and configuring classroom technology.
  • Help desk operations to provide technical support to all administration, faculty, and staff while prioritizing tickets to minimize interruption to school business.
  • Installing, maintaining, supporting, and troubleshooting software, hardware, and peripherals on Mac (iOS and OS X), and PC.
  • Installing and updating wifi access points.
  • Enrollment, deployment, and monitoring of devices in an MDM system.
  • Troubleshooting problems relating to non-computer hardware and software, including IP phones and classroom A/V connections.
  • Providing Audio/Visual support.
  • Maintaining an accurate inventory of school-wide hardware and software, including the management and support of equipment loans.
  • Maintaining, deploying, and troubleshooting printers and copiers in cooperation with existing print copy service vendor.
  • Providing customer focused, all-inclusive support, including training staff and community how to access, evaluate, use, share, and create information from a variety of sources available
  • Network mapping and discovery

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Currently enrolled in or have completed Comp TIA A+ training course

Preferred Requirements:

  • Certifications: ACMT, A+, Network+, CCENT or CCN
  • MDM Platform Experience

Physical Requirements and Work Environment 

  • Works in a sometimes highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; to bend, stoop, and reach overhead
  • Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled classroom environment
  • Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold
