For this Regional Visual Merchandiser, Central/Canada role, we are looking for the ideal candidate who have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of related experience in areas like Visual Merchandising project management. Experience in the luxury field is essential, while retail experience is preferred. This role demands direct merchandising and in-store experience, with keen attention to detail. This candidate must be willing to travel 60% of the time and work at events outside of normal business hours. Physical requirements include the ability to lift over 40 pounds. Strong project management and organizational skills are important, alongside a robust working knowledge of Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is necessary, along with the ability to read technical drawings. Familiarity with SAP and proficiency in French are both pluses.

What are we expecting from you?

In this role, you will be our VM expert, moving between our boutiques in the Central/Canada Region to support with in store merchandising, product launches, events, special animations, store openings and everything in between to make sure our boutiques are kept to the highest standards. The position is based in Chicago and supports the following boutiques: Chicago, Vancouver, Yorkdale, Bloor St., Aspen.

Definition of Visual Merchandising includes but is not limited to:

  • Upkeeping of Van Cleef & Arpels standards of excellence
  • Monthly communications on VM guidelines supporting product launches
  • PLV Ordering & Maintenance
  • Visual support to events and large-scale projects
  • Seasonal exterior window display implementation
  • Clear communication with key stakeholders to ensure initiatives are completed on time

The Regional Visual Merchandiser, Central/Canada will need to demonstrate and proactively integrate a comprehensive understanding of cross-functional implications in all decisions, plans and communication. They will need to work well in a team, proactively offering their own expertise, knowledge, and capabilities to contribute to the team’s success. The Regional Visual Merchandiser, Central/Canada will need to be results oriented and seek ways to improve their own productivity. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Visual Merchandising.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

Maintain VM Alignment by Implementing VM Zoning Plans and Guidelines in Central/Canada Boutiques through Visual Merchandising Practices Including:

  • Ensure Visual Guidelines are being implemented
  • Foster close relationship with Regional Director, Central and work alongside to align on business priorites. 
  • Monthly/or as needed visits to the boutiques to support special animation installations
  • Create and implement boutique zoning with Boutique Directors
  • Communicate regularly with Visual, Marketing, and PR teams to replace/update merchandise on display and anticipate product moves, photo shoots and consignments
  • Train/Work with boutique teams on Visual Merchandising
  • Ensure correct PLV and Signage is displayed
  • Monitor condition and order replacement PLV & Signage as needed
  • Create Monthly Visual Merchandising Reports/recaps to share with Visual Merchandising Manager, Marketing, Supply Chain
  • Create quarterly reports of the Visual Merchandising, evaluating and summarizing outcomes with the marketing team of the store zoning and visible assortment

Support Special Window and Boutique Installations, Product Launches, and Special Events

  • Plan and implement detailed zoning for new collection launches, focuses, high jewelry rotations, special events and store initiatives with Boutique Directors, VM Senior Manager and Marketing.
  • Liaise with marketing on model looks and merchandising updates needed on the boutique floor for events.
  • Support visual merchandising for special client presentations
  • Onsite at events to implement VM needs.
  • Work with security to adjust window value for special events
  • Communicate, coordinate with vendors and oversee window animations

Maintain Overall Boutique Appearance

  • Boutique Maintenance: Communicate with Store Planning on repairs in boutiques, including lighting, cases, walls, baseboards, chairs, etc.
  • Send out Quarterly Reports to the Retail Operations team including a compiled list of replacement items such as desk trays, pads, table linens and other accessories.
  • Libraries: Maintain/update library appearances during boutique visits.
  • Work with florists to make sure weekly flowers follow guidelines, are fresh and delivered on time. Coordinating any changes to schedule with florist.

Support VM for Store Opening

  • Collaborate with Store Planning on Barricade installations. Request renderings from vendors and offer proposals for review and approval.
  • Collaborate with Retail Ops on Bar-Champagne proposals. Select best in class barware and drinkware for luxury in-store experience.
  • Train current and incoming staff on VM/PLV standards and best practices.
  • Support boutique teams with merchandising and visual displays leading up to boutique opening
