Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Location: I Hotel and Conference Center, Champaign, Illinois

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance and engineering operations at the I Hotel and Conference Center. This includes managing a team of technicians, ensuring the safety and functionality of building systems, and maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction through timely and effective maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and guest inconvenience.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee contracted services such as elevator maintenance, landscaping, and pest control.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies and parts as needed.
• Train and mentor maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other departments to support event setups, room readiness, and facility improvements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance or engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with building automation systems and energy management practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
