Job Description

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Legal Assistant to support a busy family law practice. This fully remote position offers flexibility while maintaining a strong preference for candidates based in the Twin Cities metro area to facilitate occasional in-person collaboration or court-related tasks if needed. Key Responsibilities: + Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys handling family law matters including divorce, custody, child support, and adoption. + Draft, proofread, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and correspondence. + Prepare and file exhibits for hearings, trials, and other court proceedings. + Assist with trial and court appearance preparations, including organizing materials, coordinating logistics, and ensuring deadlines are met. + Manage case calendars, deadlines, and scheduling of hearings, mediations, and client meetings. + Maintain client files and ensure confidentiality and compliance with legal procedures. + Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel. + Assist with billing, time entry, and other practice management tasks. Requirements + Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally within family law or other litigation practice. + Knowledge of Minnesota court procedures and e-filing systems. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + High level of organization, discretion, and empathy. + Proficiency with legal practice management software and remote collaboration tools. + Experience with CLIO, preferred. + Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
