We are looking for a EHS Manager to join our Performance Chemicals team McIntosh, AL.

Travel for this role may be required for up to 20% of the time.

As an EHS Manager, you will coordinate a team of EHS professionals across America, providing strategic direction and guidance to achieve EHS performance goals while promoting their professional growth and development.

  • Collaborating with EV Operations American leadership, the Global EHS Leadership Team, and site leadership to establish annual priorities and targets.
  • Engaging with business partners, leadership teams, manufacturing sites, labs, contract manufacturers, and functional teams to gain cooperation and alignment on EHS initiatives.
  • Identifying and prioritizing issues and opportunities, adjusting resources and programs as needed, and developing and executing action plans aimed at reducing risks and enhancing EHS performance.
  • Coordinating with BASF's EHS Centers of Expertise to develop processes and initiatives that promote continuous improvement in EHS practices.
  • Planning and implementing safety assessments and providing safety-related consulting for labs, production plants, and contract manufacturing facilities operated by EV Americas.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions while effectively navigating complex audits, compliance issues, and regulatory processes amid competing priorities.
  • Facilitating management system reviews for the Responsible Care (RC) program within EV Operations in America
  • Interacting with and influencing site leadership, regulatory agencies, and other key internal and external stakeholders to promote best practices in EHS program execution.

If you...

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Occupational Safety, or an Environmental discipline.
  • Have over 5 years of experience implementing occupational safety, environmental, or industrial hygiene programs in the chemical manufacturing sector.
  • Possess expertise in safety practices, including behavior-based safety, industrial hygiene, OSHA/MSHA regulations, and multimedia environmental programs.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of developing, implementing, and managing effective EHS programs.
  • Have a strong ability to identify and prioritize issues and opportunities, driving impactful change within the organization.
  • Bring leadership and coaching experience to effectively guide employees across multiple sites.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
