Job Description

As a leader and principal “caretaker” of the brand’s legacy, the Director of eCommerce will drive the growth and profitability of the company’s revenue stream by planning, directing and setting the strategic direction of the eCommerce team. While overseeing the department’s operations, business planning and budget development, the Director will grow and maintain the portfolio of all online platforms to include Amazon and Direct to Consumer Channel (Riteintherain.com B2C & B2B) through the aggressive and persistent sales activities of the staff they manage and motivate.

WORK ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategy, Growth, Market Development
    • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive eCommerce sales and margin growth on Amazon and RITR.com, aligning with overall business objectives. 
    • Define and implement the strategy for current and potential new platforms, including pricing, product selection, merchandising, and content strategy
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for new platforms, partnerships, and digital growth
    • Using consumer-based feedback, advise New Product Development and product modifications that build out a more robust product catalog for eCommerce success
    • Stay ahead of industry trends and competitive activity, continuously refining strategies to maintain market advantage
    • Work with senior leadership to align e-Commerce objectives with overall business goals and long-term growth initiatives
  • Marketing, Customer Experience, Brand Presence
    • Build, manage, and execute SEO strategies to drive web traffic, product visibility, and increase conversions. 
    • Expand digital marketing strategies across all paid media, email, and SMS marketing to drive customer acquisition, retention
    • Manage the end-to-end customer experience across platforms, ensuring consistent branding, streamlined purchasing, and effective ratings/reviews management
    • Oversee all aspects of Amazon account performance, including Amazon Marketing (AMS), compliance, A+ content, and customer feedback
    • Partner with internal teams to design and implement digital campaigns, product launches, and promotional initiatives across online channels
  • Operations, Leadership, Performance Management
    • Oversee the company’s eCommerce technology and Snyperdyne, ensuring seamless integrations with ERP, CRM, and fulfillment systems to support operations
    • Manage the eCommerce budget, including advertising spend, and maintain accountability for sales growth, ROI, and profitability
    • Leverage data analytics to refine pricing, promotions, and conversion strategies
    • Monitor and analyze consumer, customer and financial data by providing regular reporting and sales forecasting to executive leadership
    • Ensure compliance with marketplace policies and data security standards, mitigating risks that could disrupt sales or customer trust
    • Lead and mentor the eCommerce team, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure team success and individual development. 
  • Other duties assigned as needed


QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or relevant studies or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years related experience in eCommerce (to include Amazon), content management, digital marketing, or consumer goods.
  • Adavanced analytical skills and data-first mindset with strong skillset in Excel and Word, reporting, and forecasting.
  • High degree of knowledge of common eCommerce platforms & marketing tools.
  • Director level management experience with an eCommerce, marketing, or an equivalent department.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong bias for action, experimentation, and continuous optimization.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A current and valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel 10% of the time.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position has an estimated base salary range of $120,000 - $160,000. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position has the ability to be remote.
