This internship offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development in data science, machine learning, and revenue optimization. The Data Scientist Research Intern will work closely with an advanced analytics team on projects ranging from forecasting and pricing to AI-driven solution prototyping. You will engage in data exploration, model development, and testing while gaining hands-on experience with generative AI and machine learning techniques. This role allows you to apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges, collaborate with experts, and enhance your professional portfolio in a dynamic, innovative environment. Interns will also develop critical technical documentation and present their findings to a variety of audiences, gaining practical exposure to professional research practices.

Accountabilities:

• Prepare, analyze, and explore datasets to identify opportunities, challenges, and trends.
• Design, prototype, and implement data-driven solutions to support research and product development.
• Collaborate with mentors and team members to develop generative AI and machine learning applications for revenue management.
• Communicate findings and project outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Produce technical documentation and maintain records of research methodologies, experiments, and results.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to ongoing projects.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Ph.D. program in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Prior experience conducting research as part of academic program is preferred.
• Knowledge of generative AI, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs).
• Proficiency in Python (primary), with working knowledge of SQL and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with data manipulation libraries such as Pandas.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and proactively address challenges.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Preferred: Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, time-series forecasting, demand planning, and data visualization tools (e.g., Streamlit, Plotly, Dash).
• Interest in revenue science, forecasting, and estimation concepts.
