CAD Designer/Drafter needed.
Essential Job Functions
• Design and layout PV solar arrays using computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturer tool.
• Use CAD to draft photovoltaic system and interconnection designs and generate construction drawings.
• Work closely with the engineer throughout the system design process.
• Establish and maintain in-house drafting templates and standards.
• Perform glare analysis on systems.
• Provide support to business development by generating customer-facing documents and design support.
• Research related code, building and zoning requirements.
Other related Job Functions
• Prepare and submit packages daily, including applications and necessary documentation to jurisdictions for the permitting process.
• Collaborate with municipalities to ensure adherence to permit regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of technical corrections and project progress using CRM systems.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and your manager throughout the permitting process. Verbally and written.
Qualifications
• Must have completed at least a two-year associate CAD degree program or equivalent experience.
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD. Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Anyalytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. May be some travel involved.
• Skills to SketchUp or other related programs are preferred.
• Must have basic skills in Microsoft products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Must be familiar with construction drawings and industry drawing standards
• Familiar with electrical power systems drafting and drawing a must. (Electrical scematic design knowledge)
• Must be able to adapt and adjust easily to change.
• Must be able to stand, kneel, crouch, twist, work in tight areas and able to sit for hours per day.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
